History

2010: more than 12 398 companies, major groups and professional bodies, but also many small and medium-sized companies and small and medium-sized industries with less than 20 employees place their trust in us; that means 826,323 individuals wearing COTRAL custom hearing protections every day.

2009: ISO 9001 certification version 2008. Our Quality Management System guarantees full satisfaction of our customers in France and on the international markets.

2008: launching of the COTRAL Micra 3D and Prima 3D protections, manufactured in 3D based on ear impressions from Crylit (a hard material used for digital manufacture of the protections).

2006: ISO 9001 certification version 2000.

2004: after 12 years of experience, the quality of the products and services give COTRAL Laboratory the position of unchallenged leader in custom hearing protection* in Europe with:

• a 30% increase in turnover per annum since 1992,
• building of a company head office and a manufacturing laboratory with an area of 1870 m².

2002 is the year of development towards exports: COTRAL International sets out to conquer the European market and recruits employees in Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.

2000: the head office increases to 400m² and produces no less than 30,000 custom hearing protections per year. New features appear: the first generation of the detachable cord, a comic strip to develop awareness about noise, an impact-proof and dustproof storage case...

1998: the range of protections develops: the COTRAL Ultra Mini custom hearing protection* is launched!

1997: in order to define the needs in terms of noise attenuation and communication, COTRAL Laboratory creates an assessment method (the ATAG method) which determines the optimum acoustic filter for each user.

In 1996, COTRAL Laboratory becomes a training body in France. In order to cope with this major development, COTRAL International establishes itself in premises with an area of 220 m² in the industrial zone of Condé-sur-Noireau.

In 1992, Laurent CAPELLARI purchases the company S.I.H.S. (Société Internationale d'Hygiène et de Sécurité = International Hygiene and Security Company), which is in financial difficulty... and COTRAL International is born.
It is now that restructuring of the company begins. The custom hearing protections* develop, the range of services increases and the team of Prevention Technicians expands... Production of hearing protections * increases by 65% within 3 years.
